"When I first started doing indirects I shied away from doing onlays or overlays because I thought they were the most complex thing ever created. I was paralyzed by fear, and indecision meant I just did the same type of crown prep I had learnt at dental school regardless if it was appropriate or not for the patient’s tooth.

Once I started to learn about onlays I realised I was my own worst enemy. They were more difficult in my head than they were to actual do. I shifted my focus from prescribing specific procedures to the tooth and merely taking the tooth apart the letting the tooth show me what it needed."
